“The Duke” and the 26-Year-Old Russian: Secrets in the Emails with Prince Andrew l

In the summer of 2010—just two years after Jeffrey Epstein’s conviction for procuring a minor—emails from an account signed “HRH The Duke of York KG” lit up with eager curiosity. “I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with,” Epstein wrote to “The Duke,” describing her as 26, Russian, “clevere beautiful, trustworthy.” The reply came swiftly: “Of course… would be delighted to see her.” Then, probing further: “What have you told her about me and have you given her my email as well?” Epstein confirmed she already had the contact details. Weeks later, the same correspondent invited Epstein to a private dinner at Buckingham Palace, promising “lots of privacy.” No evidence shows the meeting with the woman ever happened, but the exchanges—surfaced in the latest DOJ releases—cast fresh shadows over the disgraced royal’s post-conviction ties to the predator.

A “beautiful” Russian introduction from a convicted sex offender. What exactly was “The Duke” hoping to hear?

The correspondence, part of over three million pages unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice in late January 2026, details an August 2010 exchange between Epstein and an account labeled “The Duke,” widely identified as Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. On August 11 or 12, Epstein floated the introduction, noting the woman would be in London from August 20 to 24. Andrew’s response expressed enthusiasm, inquiring about any “message” she might carry and ensuring she had his email. Epstein’s reply—typo-laden as often—emphasized her attributes: “she 26, russian, clevere beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email.” Andrew replied quickly: “That was quick!”

The interaction did not end there. By late September 2010, Epstein, in London, proposed meeting with “private time.” Andrew, citing prior commitments including lunch with a Saudi prince and a “secret intelligence firm,” countered: “Alternatively we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy.” Days later, he followed up: “Delighted for you to come here to BP. Come with whomever and I’ll be here free from 1600ish to 2000.” Epstein agreed to 4 p.m.

These emails contradict Andrew’s prior public statements. In his 2019 BBC interview, he claimed no contact with Epstein after December 2010, when he visited the financier’s New York home to end their friendship. The 2010 messages show ongoing communication shortly after Epstein completed house arrest following his 2008 plea deal.

The Russian woman’s introduction raises particular unease. Epstein’s pattern involved trafficking and exploiting young women, often under guises of legitimate meetings or opportunities. While no allegations tie this specific woman to abuse, the context—Epstein’s recent conviction, his history of procuring vulnerable individuals—casts the “dinner” suggestion in a sinister light. Andrew’s eager inquiries about what she knew of him and his prompt acceptance amplify scrutiny.

The DOJ files also include other revelations: photos appearing to show Andrew in compromising positions, and broader evidence of sustained contact. Andrew, stripped of royal titles in 2025 amid these scandals, has consistently denied wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.

A “beautiful” Russian introduction from a convicted sex offender. What exactly was “The Duke” hoping to hear? The emails, preserved in federal archives, offer no direct answers but deepen the questions surrounding one of the most scrutinized friendships in modern royal history. As more documents emerge, the shadows lengthen.
