Long-Buried Photographs of Melania Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Resurface, Raising Fresh Questions About Their Overlap
NEW YORK / MAR-a-LAGO, 4 March 2026 – A previously unpublished set of photographs showing Melania Trump in the company of Jeffrey Epstein has emerged from the archives of a freelance photographer who worked both high-society events and private commissions in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The images, first shared publicly yesterday by the photographer’s estate after his death earlier this year, capture Melania Knauss (as she was then known) and Epstein together at two separate gatherings in New York and Palm Beach between 1998 and 2002. In one black-and-white frame taken at a charity art auction in Manhattan, Melania stands beside Epstein, both smiling toward the camera; in another color shot from a smaller dinner party at Mar-a-Lago, she is seated next to him at a candlelit table, laughing at something off-frame.
The photographer, who requested anonymity during his lifetime due to the sensitive nature of his clientele, documented dozens of elite social events during that period. He kept the negatives and contact sheets in private storage, never offering them for publication until his passing. The estate, now managed by his daughter, decided to release a curated selection of ten images after receiving multiple media inquiries following the latest wave of Epstein-file declassifications in late 2025.
None of the photographs depict criminal activity or overtly inappropriate behavior. They show Epstein and Melania in standard social poses—standing together in a receiving line, seated at the same table, exchanging polite conversation. However, the images contradict repeated statements from Donald Trump and Melania Trump’s representatives that the two families had minimal or no social overlap. In a 2019 interview, Donald Trump described Epstein as “a fixture in Palm Beach” but insisted he had not seen him in more than 15 years and that Melania “barely knew him.”
The resurfaced photographs have reignited debate over the extent of the Trumps’ pre-2004 relationship with Epstein. Flight logs already in the public domain show Donald Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet at least seven times between 1993 and 1997, sometimes with Melania present. The newly released images provide the first visual confirmation of Melania and Epstein together in social settings after her marriage to Trump in 2005 was still years away.
Legal and media analysts note that the photographs carry no direct evidentiary value in any ongoing Epstein-related investigation. No criminal charges have ever been brought against Donald or Melania Trump in connection with Epstein. Still, the timing—coming amid continued pressure for full release of sealed Epstein files—has amplified public and journalistic interest.
The Trump Organization and Melania Trump’s office have not responded to requests for comment on the photographs. A spokesperson for the former president issued a brief statement calling the images “old, out-of-context photos being weaponized for political purposes” and reiterating that the Trumps “cut ties with Epstein long before his crimes became public.”
The photographer’s daughter told reporters that her father kept the images private out of professional discretion, not because of any belief in wrongdoing. “He shot hundreds of these events,” she said. “These just happened to include two people who later became globally famous for very different reasons.”
Whether the photographs prompt additional document releases or congressional scrutiny remains to be seen. For now, they serve as a quiet, visual reminder that the Epstein network touched far more lives—and far more elite circles—than many official narratives have acknowledged.
