Six months after the death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, online speculation continues to intensify with new claims that 41 individuals have been linked to the case. The disappearance of his phone and a widely circulated photograph showing him in what appears to be a small interrogation room have further fueled public curiosity and distrust.

Yu Menglong, known as Alan Yu, died on September 11, 2025, at age 37 after falling from a high-rise building in Beijing. Police ruled the death accidental, citing alcohol consumption, with no criminal elements identified. His family accepted the official conclusion and arranged cremation. Despite the closed case, questions about the circumstances have not subsided.
The number “41” first emerged in fan discussions and has since spread rapidly. According to unverified online claims, the list includes entertainment industry figures, managers, and others allegedly connected to contracts, finances, or surveillance involving Yu. No official document or police statement has confirmed the existence of such a list, and authorities have remained silent on the matter.
The mysterious absence of Yu’s phone has also drawn significant attention. Fans note that the device, which could contain critical messages, financial records, or location data from his final days, has never been publicly accounted for. Beijing police have not released information about whether the phone was recovered or examined.
A photograph showing Yu sitting alone in a small, sparsely furnished room resembling an interrogation space has added to the speculation. The image, which appears to show him looking tired and isolated, has been widely shared and analyzed. Some interpret it as evidence that he was questioned before his death. Others suggest it may be from an acting role or unrelated context. The photo’s origin and authenticity remain unverified.
Rumors of “erased hush-money payments” and powerful figures allegedly attempting to contain information have circulated alongside these developments. None of these claims have been substantiated by credible evidence or official investigations.
The #JusticeForYuMenglong movement continues to call for greater transparency, including full release of CCTV footage, independent forensic review, and disclosure of contractual and financial details. Petitions on international platforms have collected hundreds of thousands of signatures, and fans have preserved extensive digital archives of Yu’s work after domestic content removals.
Yu Menglong was remembered for his humility, gentle demeanor, and quiet generosity. His death left millions feeling a personal loss. The combination of the “41 names,” the missing phone, and the interrogation-style photo has created a narrative that resonates deeply with fans who feel the full story has not been told.
For now, the case remains officially closed. No new investigation has been announced. Whether the circulating claims will ever be addressed by authorities is uncertain. What is evident is that public interest in Yu Menglong’s story has not faded. For many, the image of him sitting alone in that small room has become a haunting symbol of the unanswered questions that still surround his death.
As speculation continues, the central question remains: how much darker will this case appear before the full truth — if it ever does — finally comes to light?
