While the headlines chase familiar names, the unsealed records — more than three million pages released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act — reveal a different central figure in Epstein’s final years. Karyna Shuliak, a dentist now in her mid-30s, appears as his last known romantic partner and the primary beneficiary of the so-called “1953 Trust,” a document he signed just two days before his death in August 2019.

The trust allocated Shuliak $100 million, divided into $50 million in immediate cash and a $50 million annuity. It also positioned her to receive an impressive collection of high-value assets: Epstein’s luxurious Manhattan townhouse on the Upper East Side, his Paris apartment on Avenue Foch, the vast Zorro Ranch in New Mexico, and the two private islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. A handwritten note attached to the documents mentions a spectacular 32.73-carat diamond ring, valued at over $1 million, along with 48 loose diamonds, presented “in contemplation of marriage.”

Shuliak’s name surfaces tens of thousands of times throughout the files, underscoring her intimate role in Epstein’s daily life. She managed household affairs with precision — ordering custom furniture, staff uniforms, and coordinating schedules — earning the informal nickname “The Inspector” for her keen attention to detail. Epstein supported her academic ambitions, helping facilitate her admission to Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine as a transfer student from Belarus. He also assisted with her immigration journey, including arrangements that aided her path to U.S. residency and citizenship.

Their relationship reportedly began when Shuliak was in her early 20s, and she remained a steady presence through the turbulent period leading to his arrest. Records indicate she placed one of the final calls he made from jail. In the trust, Epstein clearly prioritized her above other named beneficiaries, including select associates and family members.

Despite the generous provisions, the fortune has largely evaporated. Epstein’s estate, once estimated at over $600 million, has been heavily reduced by taxes, legal fees, and substantial payments to a victims’ compensation fund. Remaining assets have been frozen by authorities in the United States and France, making it unlikely that Shuliak will receive anything close to the original amount. She has since kept an exceptionally low profile, living quietly in New York.

These 2026 disclosures add a compelling, understated dimension to the Epstein saga. While the spotlight often fixes on celebrity and power connections, the documents highlight how one private woman quietly occupied a pivotal place — both personally and financially — in his final chapter. In the sprawling archive of intrigue, Karina Shuliak remains the enigmatic figure who nearly inherited an empire.
