Declassified Epstein Documents Renew Focus on Zorro Ranch – Alleged Links to Trump-Era DOJ Spark Fresh Scrutiny
WASHINGTON, D.C. / SANTA FE, New Mexico – 10 March 2026
Newly unsealed portions of Jeffrey Epstein’s investigative files have revived intense scrutiny of his sprawling Zorro Ranch property in New Mexico, with fresh allegations that the estate was used for activities shielded by influence within elite circles, including possible connections to figures associated with Donald Trump’s administration.

The documents, released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, include internal memos, property records, and witness statements from the 2019–2020 federal investigation that describe Zorro Ranch as more than a luxury retreat. According to the files, the 8,000-acre property was equipped with extensive surveillance systems, guest accommodations designed for privacy, and facilities that survivors have previously described as sites of abuse. One 2020 FBI summary references “high-level protection” that allegedly slowed or obstructed deeper examination of the ranch’s activities.
The timing of the release has drawn particular attention because it coincides with renewed congressional oversight of the Department of Justice under the current Trump administration. Several Democratic lawmakers have pointed to the documents as evidence that Epstein’s network may have received favorable treatment or delayed accountability during previous periods of Republican control of the DOJ. “If there was interference or selective inaction regarding Zorro Ranch, the public deserves to know,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) in a statement.
The White House has pushed back strongly. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the renewed focus “a politically motivated distraction” and emphasized that President Trump “cut ties with Epstein years before his crimes became public.” She noted that the DOJ under Trump has continued the phased release of Epstein files as required by law and has not impeded any legitimate investigations.
Zorro Ranch, purchased by Epstein in 1993, has long been a point of interest in survivor accounts. Multiple women have alleged they were trafficked there for exploitation, with some claiming the remote location made escape nearly impossible. The ranch’s main residence includes luxurious amenities, underground storage areas, and a private airstrip, features that investigators say facilitated discreet arrivals and departures.
No new criminal charges have been filed as a direct result of the latest document release. However, attorneys representing Epstein victims say the materials strengthen ongoing civil suits and could pressure the DOJ to pursue additional lines of inquiry. “These files show the scale of protection Epstein enjoyed,” said one attorney involved in the cases. “The question is whether that protection extended into political spheres.”
The New Mexico Attorney General’s office confirmed it is reviewing the newly public documents but has not opened a new state-level investigation. The property itself remains privately owned and has been largely unused since Epstein’s 2019 death.
The developments come amid broader public fascination with Epstein’s network. Partial file releases since 2024 have named hundreds of individuals in logs, emails, and witness statements, yet few high-profile figures have faced renewed legal consequences. The Zorro Ranch references have added fuel to demands for complete, unredacted disclosure of all remaining materials.
As the controversy intensifies, the core tension remains unresolved: how much of Epstein’s operation was enabled by connections that reached into the highest levels of American power, and whether those connections continue to influence accountability today.
