“The Torment of an Insider: When a Victim Became a Recruiter in Epstein’s Network”

PALM BEACH, Florida – In a quiet hotel room in Florida, Courtney Wild sat facing the camera, her voice still trembling more than two decades later. “I brought him at least 50 girls, possibly up to 70,” she said in an exclusive 2025 interview with 60 Minutes Australia. That number is not just a statistic—it is an unhealed wound, living proof of how Jeffrey Epstein turned victims into unwitting accomplices.

Courtney first met Epstein at age 14, at a high school in Florida. A friend introduced her to a “massage” job paying $200 per session. At first, she saw it as a chance to help her struggling family. But the initial meeting quickly became a nightmare. Epstein didn’t just sexually abuse her; he masterfully manipulated her psyche, turning fear into dependency. “He told me if I brought friends, he’d pay more. I didn’t want to, but he threatened to tell my mother,” Courtney recalled.

Epstein’s recruitment system was meticulously designed: use former victims to lure new ones. Courtney admitted she brought classmates, neighbors, even girls she met through early social networks. Each time she delivered a new girl to the Palm Beach mansion or New York apartment, she received $200—enough for clothes, school supplies, or simply the feeling of “helping” her family. But the price was lifelong torment: knowing those girls would endure the same horror.

As court documents were gradually unsealed from 2019 to 2025—including millions of pages from the U.S. Department of Justice—the full picture emerged. Epstein did not act alone. Ghislaine Maxwell—his partner and co-conspirator—played a central role in recruiting and grooming. Yet the system relied heavily on young victims, psychologically manipulated into participating in exchange for temporary “protection.”

Courtney Wild refused to stay silent. She became one of the loudest voices challenging the secret 2008 non-prosecution agreement between Epstein and Florida prosecutors. Thanks to her efforts and those of other survivors, Epstein was finally arrested in 2019, though he died by suicide in jail months later. Maxwell was convicted and sentenced to 20 years for sex trafficking of minors.

Today, Courtney works with organizations supporting sexual abuse survivors, sharing her story to prevent similar tragedies. “I can’t change the past, but I can help other girls avoid the same trap,” she said. Still, the guilt lingers: every new abuse case she hears makes her wonder if she could have saved more lives by speaking out sooner.

The Epstein case is not just the story of one depraved individual. It exposes flaws in the justice system, the indifference of the powerful, and how money and influence can conceal crimes for decades. As more documents—including photos and videos from Little St. James—are released, one question remains: how many more victims are still unheard?
